The International Bachelor of Wood Technology is aimed at young people abroad who have a passion for wood but only limited knowledge of German. The IWT programme offers a comprehensive university engineering education in the field of wood technology, while enabling students to become fluent in German.

The first three semesters cover the fundamental engineering studies, as well as specific courses in wood and wood-based materials. At the same time, you will learn the German language (level B2 / C1 CEFR) in language courses tailored for the programme.
Your courses in the first semester are held in English. From the second semester onwards you will attend selected subject modules in German and, from the third semester onwards, German is the language of instruction.
Beginning in the fourth semester you will join your peers from the German-language wood technology programme and attend the higher level engineering and business courses and electives in German.
The sixth semester is reserved for an industry internship in one of the many local companies in Germany or in a company abroad.
The IWT engineering degree, with its strong focus on engineering fundamentals, combined with organizational and business management skills, offers outstanding professional development and career opportunities.
