The Program

Learning Modules
In the learning modules of our EMBA program, you'll develop solution-oriented management skills, sharpen your entrepreneurial understanding and expand your leadership knowledge.

Lecturers from TUM School of Management, international partner universities and our corporate partners will provide you with a sound theoretical framework of state of the art management skills. Besides a general management education you will gain a detailed understanding of how to develop and establish new business, harness your ambition and drive forward innovation. You will learn in a variety of ways, ranging from case studies, action based learning, team projects and rapid prototyping to ideation and discussions. You and your peers will use your pre-MBA work experience to contribute to class discussions and learn from each other.

Project Modules
In the project modules, you will work on a personal project and derive direct benefits for your company. You will systematically evaluate opportunities and push your project forward by taking advantage of the structured business design process.

The project work is structured in two phases: During the team project you will develop a minimum viable product with your assigned team in the class. This phase is focused on the learning experience. In the second phase, you will be paired with a project advisor from UnternehmerTUM. He/she will be the first point of contact and support you in driving forward your innovation or startup project. In this module, you can work on a current project for your company or drive the formation of your own startup.

Innovation and startup advisory
During the project work, a personal project advisor from UnternehmerTUM will be by your side. The advisors have long experience in assisting companies and startups, and accompany you from the concept to development to the market entry of your business idea.

Silicon Valley Tour
A visit at the University of California in Berkeley, one of the best universities in the US, is a highlight of the Executive MBA in Innovation and Business Creation.
The five-day Innovation & Business Creation Conference is hosted by two experienced professors from the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley, who will provide you with an in-depth look at the world’s most vibrant startup and venture capital scene. At the end of this week, you’ll present your team project to a panel of investors and venture capitalists, coming away with valuable feedback for the next steps. During a two-day company tour in the following week you’ll visit startups and fast-growing companies at Berkeley, San Francisco, the Bay Area or Silicon Valley.

Master Thesis
In your master’s thesis you’ll reflect on a topic from your innovation or startup project. Scientific advising and guidance is provided by Holger Patzelt, Professor of Entrepreneurship at TUM.
