The B.A. in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought provides rigorous training in economics and politics.

The interdisciplinary degree structure allows students to reflect on and explore key questions in the public and private sectors.

Students begin by taking introductory courses in quantitative measurement and in macro- and microeconomics, in addition to comparative politics and policy courses. They then specialize by choosing either Economics or Politics as their concentration, taking advanced modules to deepen their knowledge in their field of choice.

Bard College Berlin’s Core Curriculum engages some of the most important texts, artifacts, and debates in the cultural legacies of Europe and the world. Students can study abroad for up to two semesters in their third year. During the fourth year, students take part in a research colloquium and and complete a B.A. thesis project under close guidance from faculty.

Within the elective component of the degrees, students may choose from a wide variety of courses in the humanities or social sciences. They may also pursue an internship for academic credit. All B.A. candidates must demonstrate intermediate proficiency in German by the end of their second year.
